Description

WSS Bunker in the prestigious Highlands subdivision - What do you need for peace of mind? This is the ultimate property for anyone who wants to be fully prepared. This homesite comes with a pre installed escape room/fallout bunker. Live self sustainably for a decade if need be, comfortably while growing your own plants, raising your own fish and living off your canned supplies. Swiss made nuclear fallout air filtration system conveys. Creek runs through the middle of property. Seller thinks HOA is $17 per month. The shelter was purchased in 2014 from Spartan Survival Systems (https://spartansurvivalsystems.com/steel-blast-shelters) ($75,000), but put into the ground in 2015. It is 40ft long by 10ft wide and made of corrugated steal. This allows for the shelter to flex with the earth. It is places in a shale bed to prevent any flooding. It is equipped with a bathroom area with a toilet. It has 8 beds (4 bunks) which all have storage under them as well as above. There is an area set aside for aquaponics with some equipment existing. Next is a food storage area leading into the kitchen. There is also extensive storage under the floor of the entire shelter where we have water stored and room for other belongings. The far end of the shelter is where the escape hatch is located as well as the air filter and electrical crank, which can be hooked up to a bicycle for exercise while producing electricity. The air filtration system with extra filter, purchased from NBC Filtration Systems (https://www.blastdoorsandnbcfilters.com/product/va-150/) ($15,000), filter out nuclear, radiological and biological contaminants from the air. These are the same filters that the Swiss Government uses in their residential bunkers. The electrical and plumbing need to be finished but everything thing is in place to do so. Toilet, sink and lighting are already installed. There is no septic system in place for the shelter. The thought was that a well and septic would not work or be needed in the event of actually having to use the shelter as intended. Additionally there is a wind turbine with numerous marine batteries for additional electricity that needs to be put up and installed. The shelter needs to be fully covered but cannot be done until the entrance hatch is welded on. This should be done after the next occupants have finished the inside and brought in any personal items. The estimated cost to complete the shelter is around $15,000. This includes, welding, covering, plumbing completion and hooking up the wind turbine and completing the electrical. This is an estimate with no current quotes available. The property has been cut of most pines. It has not had a well installed, septic system or electricity brought to it. There is an HOA (see attached) with a fee of $200 a year.
